The handle is made from Cherry burl that is found in the Midwestern and eastern United States, with a high area of concentration in Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and New York. Cherry heartwood offers a beautiful, light reddish-brown color that darkens with age and exposure to sunlight.  Cherry is highly prized for fine furniture, cabinetry, mouldings and decorative millwork. It is also an excellent choice for high-end paneling, boat interiors and musical instruments.
