Description
This razor handle was handcrafted by Robert Quinn from Masur Birch, also known as Masur Ice, a member of the European Birch family and is found predominantly in the Scandinavian countries. White birch is known for its creamy, white-to-tan color and faint grain, Masur Ice typically displays a curly or flame pattern. Historically, European birch was used to make canoes, and Laplanders used it to make cloaks and leggings. Norwegians covered bark with soil to create roofs. Russians used birch bark to tan leather.
